Electronic Arts has teamed up with iTunes to bring some of the best music in gaming to your iPod. EA Trax has helped set the standard for gaming music over the past few years with many popular bands featured as well as some little-known groups. Many stars can trace their springboard of success, at least in part, back to being featured in games. EA games have helped launch the careers of such artists as Good Charlotte, Jet, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, Arctic Monkeys and Fabolous just to name a few. Games like Madden NFL and NBA Live often feature some of the newest music in multiple genres that grabs appeal of gamers in the United States and internationally. "Our game soundtracks have now officially transcended their consoles. All songs, all mixes and all exclusives from all nations: if it’s in the game, it’s now available for fans to own. We consider this to be the next major step in evolving the music discovery experience," said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing at EA. EA.com generates over 6 million page views per month, much higher than the typical developer, showing its foothold as an entertainment destination, and not just a database for game information. Other moves into mainstream culture by EA include the EA Madden Challenge which was played at the Pro Bowl and the EA NBA Live Challenge played at the NBA All-Star game in Las Vegas. EA also hosts the busy EA Nation and EA Mobile, which allows gamers to buy games for their iPod music players. To download music from your favorite EA games, simply go to EA Trax. ----- Related: EA Releases Soundtrack for Burnout | EA Madden Challenge Coverage | NBA Live 07 Review |
