[#14] GT Pro Series Genre: RacingPublisher: Ubisoft Developer: MTOs Number of Players:1-4 ESRB:E for Everyone The Story Back from the past is MTO's multiplatform racing series, GT, which originally appeared back in 2004 for the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance.
Developed exclusively for the Wii, GT Pro Series marks MTO's first venture into the world of Wii. Players will race more than 80 "authentically modeled cars, each with 11 tunable components" in a single player series, or play with up to 3 other friends in Versus mode. Other modes include Championship, Quick Race, Time Attack, Drift and Replay (replay being a recurring mode among Wii games). No online play will be available, as with many games within the Wii launch window, but with up to four player split-screen and a complementary "Wii Wheel," with every purchase, there's a lot of fun to be had with friends. A few people have complained about the visual quality of the title after checking out the box screenshots, many of which seem distraught over the pseudo-cell-shaded style, but with Wii-enhanced control over rides like the Nissan Skyline and Mazda Rx-7, who can turn a blind eye to this game? Ugliest Launch Title If GT Pro Series looks as bad as the screens we've all seen time and time again, MTO might be in a Wii bit of trouble at launch. Regardless of how great the game could be, no one will want to purchase a title that looks like it came straight off of a Dreamcast (no offense to Dreamcast). |
