[#18] Cars Genre: RacingPublisher: THQ Developer: Rainbow Studios Number of Players:1-2 ESRB: E for Everyone The Story The third and final game on our list to make the jump from animated movie to Wii software [Open Season and Barnyard have been delayed - Ed.] is Pixar Animation Studios' Cars. Centralized around the story of Cars the film, help Lightning McQueen capture the coveted Piston Cup Championship in a story-based adventure that relives key moments of the movie as you explore the open-world of Radiator Springs.
Cars the game will feature over 30 different races and mini-games for players to utilize and enjoy the Wii remote. Tilt and turn the controller to experience the bends just like Lightning McQueen does, though hopefully all that racing doesn't go to your head quite as fast. Including both multi player and single player mode, players will be able to take control of over 10 different playable characters from the animated movie. Along with that, gamers will be able to enjoy "all the major voice talent" heard in the film. If the game is anything like its previous gen brethren, this will be an ideal game to hop in and play. And with the inclusion of the Wii's control scheme, it should make that jump even easier for first time players. Best Animated Movie Ported to Wii Four contenders fought it out for this award, but it was more like a battle for second as Open Season and Barnyard fell well short of Pixar's Cars [Open Season and Barnyard have been pushed back - Ed.]. I mean, Lightning McQueen is a talking car! What does Barnyard or Open Season have? Talking bears? Talking cows? You don't see David Hasselhoff picking up chicks with a talking grizzly do you? No, I didn't think so. |
