I really, really enjoyed portal. I think most people (including me) found it to be a step above the average FPS in terms of its intellectual themes. having said that, I was excited to see an article discussing the game's less obvious thematic elements. what I got was a way-too-deep, begging-for-approval feminist reading of a great game. I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes more in my life. thought I'd share it with you fools, even though I know most of you don't even read dpad anymore.

Like VALVe had it in mind to empower the feminine and all this Da Vinci Code BS when they made the game. You could argue that game stands for communism, or dictatorship if you really felt like it.
But the person who wrote this article is a guy, folks. Just fyi.
This dude is just trying to use controversial speculation about a game of almost universal praise and popularity to make his article more "interesting", and thus gain more hits for gamesradar.
Which #1 is helping him do by posting a link to such a silly article on a forum filled with young posters who are always eager to find something to be angry about.
#7 I didn't post it to help spread the word about the article, although by doing so that is inadvertently what I'm doing. but, contrary to popular belief, blatant ignorance of an intellectual discourse (and this is one, clearly) provides less of a basis of contradiction to the said intellectual discourse than intelligent discussion. so, it is the better method to educate ourselves about a topic we don't agree with in hopes of providing better arguments against it than it is to just simply ignore it. that's why I linked the article.
