Eight years ago to this day the Sega Dreamcast was born. One of the best, and incredibly underestimated consoles of our time saw some mainstream success, but when competition came about (Playstation, N64) the Dreamcast was overshadowed.
Despite being pulled from shelves by Sega years ago the Dreamcast lives through small-time publishers and a thriving homebrew community. Some people to this day pay for private servers to host online-enabled Dreamcast games. Most argue that the Dreamcast was ahead of its time with its online capabilities, but companies like EA didn't support the console due to losses with the Sega Saturn. Either way, it was, and still is, an amazing console.
#18 Well then, if we keep that up, we might as well say that the PlayStation 3 failed and died when compared to the Xbox 360 and the Wii. Nice logic there.
Happy birthday Dreamcast
