Guess the talks were unsuccessful. Capcom still supporting psp it seems 21 titles?
Capcom is looking at a worldwide market not just japan they wont take dead rising away from the 360 after the amazing success it has had in just 2 weeks. Still needs to be released in europe and japan. No doubt dead rising would sell better on the ps3 in japan than the 360, but capcom is thinking on a global scale.
well since its just a rumour its not official so they wouldnt change anything now even if it was true
and dead rising would sell better on ps3 everywhere but even i dont think ps3 would get a fully fledged dead rising sequel as an exclusive
if theres some truth to that rumour i bet its a slightly update dead rising 1 with a 2 added in the title so capcom could release the game on ps3 too without getting into trouble with whatever deal they might have with ms to keep dead rising 360 exclusive
Yea ggz the rumor isn't true if it had any truth whatsoever they wouldn't go and reconfirm the game for the 360 on their official site on the 29th of this month. I mean why mess with their credibility by saying its coming to the 360 only to say later on oh nevermind ps3 only.
ggz why would dead rising sell better on the ps3 everywhere exactly? People with ps3s appreciate good games more than people that own 360s? People with ps3s naturally have more money to spend in the first place? That statement just doesn't make any sense. Going just by the effect of price on adoption rate I'd venture to say the ps3's current price tag would cause it to not sell as well. Price isn't an issue for me, but it will be for many others who like to wait for price drops before making a purchase. Why do you make it seem like developers making good games for the 360 is a bad business decision or something? Lost Planet is pretty much going to sell just as well if not better.
Full Auto didn't sell over half a million copies in just 2 weeks and full auto is a bad game that 360 owners wouldn't care to lose. Now if we lost re5 or gta4 (big third party titles) that would be another story. Yea slightly updated dr is a possiblity, but as of now it and lost planet are 360 exclusives according to capcom.
only selling ~500k in america is bad when they could be selling at least the same in america, somewhat less in europe and about the same in japan on ps3
"I mean why mess with their credibility by saying its coming to the 360 only to say later on oh nevermind ps3 only."
creator of re4: i will cut off my head if re4 comes out on ps2 a few weeks/months later: capcom announces re4 on ps2
Well I guess its a wait and see type deal then the same could apply for dmc4 eventually making its way to the 360.
ggz dead rising is a new ip and is selling faster than both re4 for the gamecube and re4 for the ps2. ggz dead rising isn't released in europe yet and it will be a success there too, japan (who the hell knows how it'll do in japan, but they know they got themselves a winner they aren't going to cut off a source of income by completely ripping the game from the 360 when they could be making money off of both 360 and ps3 owners. As I said its a wait and see situation.
#10 sure it could apply to dmc4 too but since sony got first dibs on dmc its even more unlikely than both dead rising and lost planet coming to ps3
re4 was launched on the wrong console.. who the f launches a games like re4 on kiddie gamecube? and by the time it came to ps2 the hype was somewhat gone
success by what standards? seeing how bad the 360 is doing in europe it wont be counted as a success other than by 360 standards at best
and did you read the part where i said that not even i think ps3 will get exclusives on dead rising? i guess you did
The PSP is a great system that just needs better support. In any case, SFIV should be amazing. Is the gameplay still 2d or are the making the move to 3d?
Takeuchi of capcom clears up confusion that lost planet and dead rising are headed to any other console he says they are 360 exclusives. They were designed with the 360 as the target platform.
Capcom reinforcing they are focused on a global market.
GS: How concerned are you when you look at the 360's installed base in Japan? How do you think Microsoft can better promote and sell its console into the Japanese marketplace?
JT: I think that the real concern is not the size of the Xbox 360 user base, but rather the close-minded tendencies of Japanese developers. Especially in recent years, many publishers are focusing their game development efforts more on the Japanese market with fewer and fewer publishers creating global development strategies.
Even with Japanese games released abroad, many publishers do not take those territories into consideration, even if the game has a very Japanese feel to it (we ourselves have been guilty of this until recently). This is often perceived as the developer just trying to reduce the amount of effort spent on development and forcing a game onto an unsuspecting market.
So, within this current industry atmosphere, we are looking at the global market and making decisions about what games to make based on the tastes of the consumers and gamers across the globe. Of course we wish there was a larger installed user base domestically in Japan, as do all Japanese developers and publishers. But the success of Dead Rising in America is proof that a Japanese developer/publisher can succeed globally with an Xbox 360 title.
I truly hope that Microsoft encourages Japanese developers to not only expand in Japan, but to help them re-emerge as leaders in the global game market. I think that if they can succeed at that, then that will ultimately lead to growing the user base in Japan as well.
They seem very pleased with Dead Rising's success as expected.
new egm rumours!

I can see this happening, as the PSP is a piece of garbage IMO compared to the DS
Too bad I bought mine before the black one hits stores in the US :/
It's science. :P
