More great news from Sony. They have released new pictures of what the PS3 console looks like. All I can say is wow this system is trully amazingly beautitful

Yet another driving home all of its capabilities. I really like what sony has done with the ps3. They did really subtle things (nothing drastic) to make it look more expensive and capable than the 360. Seriously when I look at these pics (except the controller) You instantly think (as sony's ceo said) "it has more bells and whistles than a 747."
They are driving home that its a great value for its price and it really is.
A gaming machine, a blu ray player, home entertainment device.
Only people that may want it as a gaming machine will have an issue with the price.
Taking all things into consideration its a great price for what sony is offering, it wouldn't even be that big an issue if Microsoft wasn't offering a similar experience at a cheaper price. Sony beat Microsoft 2 ways last gen.

#4 to me that looks like a computer generated or enhanced image, look at the white / silver edges, also on the top edge there's a tiny bit of staircasing around the corner. Anyway, I won't disagree with the overall viewpiont, they did a nice job making the console look good. It has a very nice overall appearance, however I'm worried that the sheer size will detract from the overall look. I think they try to mess with your perspective in the pic with the memory cards, taking a top down corner shot so you don't see the real size comparison. I think if they put one next to an xbox in a picture it would shock a lot of people because of the size, I was surprised at E3 myself even though I had known it would be big by then. Still it looks a lot nicer than the original xbox so maybe the size won't be an issue this time around *shrug*

Those pictures make the PS3 look alot better. Hopefully it does look like that in the end . I will leave my opinion open to judgement when I see it in real life come November.

#14 considering the biggest complaint about the box was the size, making a bigger box with shiny trim doesn't seem exactly the best idea. And note I never said the 360 was tiny either, the wii will be small. But I think its funny how the sony fanboys were very voiciferous about the size of the origional box, but suddenly think its not so bad ;-)
#15 I agree about leaving opinions open. Its a really nice looking machine if you don't mind big. Heck, i've got a giant receiver for my audio stuff at home, and a PS3 would fit nicely with it (the black version with chrome trim), but for people who don't want something large then its going to be an issue. I like the look of the 360 and the PS3. The original xbox is pretty ugly, no doubt, but this generation does look pretty good
that is an interesting little design ..so it doesnt lay flat on the floor, eh? you know i <3 my xbox360 but this is tempting me to buy a ps3 when it comes out.
#22, plextor has it for one of their DVD burners, I like it as well (as long as you don't get anything stuck in it), am tempted to buy it for my next PC when I build it.

I love how they put all that stuff on the side DVD, Blu ray etc.
The ps3 killing the silver trim I love how it looks. To be honest I thought it looked sloppy before, but this is the type of style I expect from sony.
