DPAD started in April of 2006 as a network site of GotFrag.com. The new section was started by console specialist of GotFrag, Michael “Australia” Antebi. He was elected to start a brand new department that would soon find its niche in the console world.
The handpicked staff eagerly started to publish feature articles, editorials, game reviews and previews to spark some interest in the otherwise PC based site. Soon thereafter, console gaming starting holding some weight and regular visitors increased on a daily and weekly basis.
The focus of DPAD has always been competitive gaming. But in order to build a community around competitive gaming, there must be a constant foundation of community based pieces, such as the game reviews and feature articles mentioned earlier. In order to branch off and have a steady focus on competitive gaming, Bill “WildBill” Selles, was brought on to staff to help organize such events. Bill has had extensive involvement in console gaming websites and had previously worked for GotFrag when it began.
With the combination of community based articles and competitive coverage, DPAD hopes to be the stop for all console gaming news, information and of course unique articles by our very talented and knowledgeable staff, as well as the latest coverage on the competitive events that you, the reader want to read about.
