The other 40 No. 11 Marc Dog Last poll position: No. 11 Quick hit: Marcus is a good mix of a veteran staying fresh with a boatload of accomplishments this year. Hey, if Truth shot up the charts, keep in mind, MarcDog defeated Truth at the Madden Challenge finals this year. No. 12 40 Gs Last poll position: No. 10 Quick hit: Being one of the older competitors in the community, you can’t help but think he’ll hang up his controllers soon, but this season hasn’t hinted toward that a bit. No. 13 RG Last poll position: No. 13 Quick hit: All his time and effort is paying off. This could be the year that he paves his own way on Madden Challenge…none of that waiting for the online qualifier crap. No. 14 Duke Last poll position: No. 14 Quick hit: You can’t discount both his contributions to the game on the sticks and behind the computer screen as he helps runs TheMaddenLab.com. Not a bad gamer, either. No. 15 One9 Last poll position: No. 12 Quick hit: He may be a little quiet now, but when the tournaments start up on the west coast, he’ll quickly reestablish himself as one of the top gamers in the wild, wild, west. No. 16 Sirus the Virus Last poll position: No. 15 Quick hit: Last season, Sirus did all right for himself, and did half of the online work for Truth (or, so I hear). Now that Truth has his own skills, it will be interesting to see if the teacher can progress as quickly as the student. No. 17 MTeezey Last poll position: No. 17 Quick hit: He wasn’t ever considered a favorite in this year’s Madden Challenge finals, but he proved to be among the elite with strong performances. No. 18 Brusk Last poll position: No. 21 Quick hit: Everyone can’t help but think about what could have been if Brusk would have stayed in to the Madden Challenge finals, knocking Secret out of the mix. Maybe the wonder is what beefs his ranking. No. 19 Evil Ken Last poll position: No. 22 Quick hit: Never considered an underdog, because he rarely is. No. 20 Bledsoe Last poll position: No. 19 Quick hit: He’s living proof that great players can come out of Madden Challenge regional qualifiers that the community deems soft. No. 21 Big Show Last poll position: No. 25 Quick hit: He fizzled out when it counted so its back to proving himself for Big Show. No. 22 Wakka Wakka Last poll position: No. 18 Quick hit: This guy owns a good portion of the east coast, and that’s a tall task taking in to consideration the kind of talent that comes out of the region. No. 23 One Great User Last poll position: No. 28 Quick hit: He can hang with the best, but not always beat the best. That’s what separates him from No. 23 to No. 20. No. 24 The Next One Last poll position: No. 23 Quick hit: The game is in this kid’s genes…literally. No. 25 Adam Morrison Last poll position: No. 24 Quick hit: He’s going to have to work hard this year to not become the guy that can rack up tournament wins, but never win the big one. No. 26 Squeeze Last poll position: No. 27 Quick hit: He has a rep similar to that of a Big Gene or Secret but with a few less accomplishments behind him. That can always change. No. 27 Show Last poll position: N/A Quick hit: This year’s “King of the Couch” scored an impressive tournament win to put him in the spotlight. One of the many new faces cracking the top 50. No. 28 The Cutler Killer Last poll position: No. 36 Quick hit: There is still something to be said for guys that can absolutely bring it online. Maybe he’ll start turning more heads at live tournaments this season. No. 29 Big Game James Last poll position: No. 30 Quick hit: With a Player’s Bowl title under his belt, BGJ looks to build up a head of steam for 2008. He’s got plenty of experience in the game being a Playstation 2 heavyweight. No. 30 Kid Josh Last poll position: N/A Quick hit: Kid Josh shocked the community with his recent Player’s Bowl title. Perhaps we’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem. Keep an eye on him as he develops and becomes a fast target. |
