I hate packing. Probably because I don’t own any luggage and I don’t think I’ll get away with using my laundry basket (what I usually use on car trips) to stow away my belongings on the plane. To avoid bringing embarrassment on GotFrag.com, I think I’ll just man up and buy a suitcase.

Early tomorrow morning, I’ll be heading down to the Indianapolis International Airport to catch my flight out to the Madden Challenge finals in Los Angeles. I can’t say that I’m pumped about the new location of the Challenge, being the center of everything that is American pop culture and celebrity media, but then I realize that I live in Central Indiana, so this trip is going to be a pretty sweet change of pace. I doubt I’ll see any corn fields out there, which is all I’m looking at right now.


I’m excited to see all the top gamers in action after following the Challenge closely throughout the entire year. I’ve had the opportunity to talk to a lot of them over the telephone and converse over e-mail, and it will be nice to finally meet guys like Problem, Truth, Chow and Big Gene in real life. Of course, I have some guys whom I consider favorites to win, but I’ll hold back from revealing those until we launch our predictions story at the beginning of the tournament.

I’m also excited about spreading the news about GotFrag.com’s Madden page. It’s hard to believe that editor-and-chief Bill Selles and I scrounged this page up only a few months ago and said ‘hopefully this will be a decent contribution to the Madden community.' Little did we know; this community is huge and active, thirsting for live coverage and exposure. We’re really glad that we’ve seen this page used so much by the community and can’t wait to show everyone some huge upcoming features we will be adding (plus, many new faces to our staff). This coverage of the Madden Finals will be somewhat of our crowning jewel for the year. There will be a lot of people wanting to know what happens up to the minute, and like we always say here at GotFrag.com, ‘we got you covered’. I may be out on location, but Bill will be holding it down at his satellite office in Kalamazoo, Michigan and the artists are hard at work making all the content look pleasing to the eyes.

But enough about work, do you realize how many celebrities I’m going to see down in the three-mile zone of Hollywood? I’m thinking about using my digital camera and joining the ranks of the paparazzi. You’ll need to check back on my blog to see which celebs I run in to, and which ones I can catch on camera saying “GotFrag.com: we’ve got you covered”. My goal is to get Dustin Diamond (aka Screech from Saved by the Bell) to say that. How much would that do for this web site’s credibility? =). I’ve never been to Hollywood, and hopefully I’m ready. I don’t have a ton of time to catch my transfer flight at the enormous O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, so please, pray for me. I’m going to finish packing, I’ll let you guys know how the trip goes tomorrow.
