GotFrag DPAD's lead editor, Thomas "mousie" Lam gives his report on the NYC stop of the 2007 Madden Challenge. Registration started off nice and early but since this is the Garden, there was bound to be some delays. Things finally started to get going at about 11 o'clock as staff began lining up the players. Ages ranged from the young high schooler looking nervous with his arms folded, attempting to look tough. We also have the weekend warrior who brings his wife and two kids for support. Finally we have the uncle, adorned with a Peyton Manning jersey, who never grew out of video games. From all walks of life they come for only one thing, immortality. GotFrag's very own Jon "Infernal" Yacker competed in the Xbox 360 tournament. Infernal's New England Patriots took on Sean Clarke's Philadephia Eagles in the first round. Infernal choose to recieve in the 1st quarter and promptly went down in three straight passing plays, which resulted in a 4th down punt. Clarke's drive in the 1st quarter allowed him to take a field goal, 3-0 Eagles. In the second quarter, it was more of the same, Infernal could not get a single pass from Tom Brady without coverage by the Eagles secondary. The quarter ended 13-7 Eagles, whereas Infernal got a touchdown after two long passes. The start of the 3rd quarter, Clarke was able to run the ball very wisely, converting crucial first downs. At one point, Clarke was up 20-7, but Infernal was able to utilize Brady's arm again for a quick touchdown, bringing the game within reach 20-14. After the touchdown, the Patriots attempted to onside kick, but the rules of Madden Challenge do not allow for an onside kick until the 4th quarter, so Infernal was forced to punt. Clarke then put it out of reach by running the clock and Infernal knew there was no point going on and promptly resigned. Thus ends Infernal's hope for greatness in 2007. Page:
