After purposely losing a regional title to his friend 40 Gs at a previous stop on the Madden Challenge, Big Gene stepped up to win his own at a sold out event. This was the highest attended event in Madden Challenge history and officials had to turn people away who were planning on registering on-site. Gene used the New England Patriots as he blew out Wakka in the finals.

Antoine Mathis defeated Brent Stewart in the Playstation 2 finals.
