Jayson "spankeee" Bussa sits down to talk with the gamer behind XCountXDownX, a team that sits No. 1 in the GameBattles singles ladder (of 1,451 teams) GameBattles has drawn a lot of criticism for cheating, what kind of instances have you noticed? People will do things like report matches that they never played, pull cords on FG's, and I've even seen a few cases where people would take pictures of them losing and edit the scores around so it showed them winning in Paint or Photoshop. The best solution for this is to use a capture card or a digital camera to take video of the ending scores and video of your career to show the scores. What could GameBattles do to make a better league? Make all battles ranked, which would make it easier to prove scores, and most importantly have a staff. We only have one staff member who rarely is on. Other arenas have 10-15 staff members to answer tickets, and to solve all other problems. How do you plan to stay at No. 1? Well, currently (as of Monday) I am about 300xp ahead of everyone, and except for the No. 2 and No. 3 ranked guys, I am over 1000xp above everyone. I believe I am the best Madden player on this ladder. I would never lose matches in a row to lose that much xp and my lead. Tell us about some of the tougher matches you had. In my last 45 matches, I've lost five times, and they were all to the same two people (Swager and Fizzle). The last time I played Swag3R, I beat him by more than three touchdowns, and he conceded in the 3rd quarter, and said he was done with Madden. Fizzle is a little tougher, as he mostly does sweeps to the left with LT and play actions to Gates. I believe the next time I play him I have a stategy that will shut his run game down and make him make mistakes through the air. Do some people accuse you of cheating? Very rarely. I play straight up football. I don't do any nano's or cheap plays like that. I play very realistic style Madden and I am greatly respected on GB. What team do you use? San Diego Chargers What draws you to that team? I have a lot of fun running the ball, and LT is perfect for that. I also like huge WR's and my No. 1 and 2 WR's are both 6-5. Gates is perfect for corner routes in the redzone, and I'm a huge fan of 3-4 defense. Do you play in in-person tournaments? Yes, I play at many in-person tournaments in Detroit and usually win them all, none of my buddies will play me for money, and I am well known at the arcades and things where the tournaments are held. Have you ever competed in EAs Madden Challenge? I went to Detroit's Madden Challenge last year, and finished in the top 32, but was eventually knocked out.
