HOUSTON RECAP:

History was made at the Houston qualifier as Michael “Duke” Crandall won the championship by a record margin. “Duke” slaughtered a solid online competitor Ryan “Senor Range” Doherty 52-7. This was something that came out of nowhere as “Duke” had been struggling on the offensive side of the ball all afternoon.

This was Crandall’s first appearance at the Madden Challenge.

Kevin “KJ” Jackson defeated Derell Marshon in the finals of the PS2 division using the Baltimore Ravens.

NOTABLES:
- Many former Madden Challenge qualifiers made the trip to the Texas venues but failed to make any noise
- Bill “Da Secret” Wolf came up empty in the two days of competition
- Strictly online competitors have been performing a lot better than in years past, giving the tournament pros a run for their money.

NEXT STOP:
Sept. 22: Glendale, Arizona (University of Phoenix Stadium)
Sept. 23: San Diego, California (Qualcomm Stadium)
