The first week of the Madden Challenge is behind us and two gamers cemented a spot in the finals. THIS WEEKEND’S REGIONAL CHAMPIONS: - Eric “Problem” Velarde (Chargers) - Michael “Duke” Crandall (Chargers) PS2 WINNERS: - Kevin “KJ” Jackson (Ravens) - Haaruwn “Houseshoe” Brown (Falcons) DALLAS RECAP: ![]() Image taken from EA Sport's web siteEric “Problem” Velarde, a Los Angeles native, was the first to secure one of the 17 U.S. slots in the Madden Challenge finals (not counting the four online qualifiers) on Saturday in Dallas. “Problem” knocked off David “One9” Stepney who was often in the limelight of the Madden circuit last year. “Problem” utilized the multi-dimensional attack of his San Diego Chargers while “One9” chose the more pass-oriented Indianapolis Colts. “Problem” keyed in on this and recorded a pair of interceptions in the match to win the championship 28-7. “Houseshoe” defeated Kyle “X Factor” Truehitt 22-7 in the PS2 finals.
