Controversy surrounds the GameBattles Madden 08 league as with a rise in players in the daily, people are hungry to get a top the ladder. By reading some of the comments left by the top tier players in this league, one notices a constant trend: People have been scheduling matches for a specific set time, only then to tell their opponent that they would like to play at a later time. The higher ranked team, with nothing to lose by this agrees to play at a later time, only to find out that overnight, his opponent reported a win.

This is a huge problem because if one player reports a match and the other player does not confirm the validity of such a report within three hours of the reported score, the match is assumed to be correct. People are sleeping, have lives and jobs, and don't have all night to hover over the GameBattles website looking for a reported score to dispute.

When asking Dallas Cowboys 4 eva, the current holder of the number six rung on the GameBattles ladder, about the situation, he had this to say, "I really like how people say they will play the challenge at a later time, never go online (on Xbox Live or the GameBattles website), then report that they won over night... Where are the staff, this really isn't fair at all."

There is a lack in staff for the Madden 08 league and if players want to see a rise in quality, there must be staff to handle these kinds of issues. It's almost as if players just have to deal with it for the time being as this is the best, and most populated Madden 08 league for any platform. A twelve game winning streak proves to show that this player is "on fire" and is almost unstoppable. Making his way into the top 25 of the league, he is currently holding the 21st rung on the ladder. Keep your eye on him and ask yourself this question: was his success a fluke, or will he be a dominant player throughout the rest of this season and come playoff time?

Skins 10 vs. Elite Player

With Skins 10 on the fringe of the top 25, currently holding the 26th rung on the ladder, he can be considered a dominate force in the league. His opponent, Elite Player, is ranked within the top 150 winning his last match in convincing style. I feel that experience will win this battle and Skins 10 will come out on top.

NY Giants Kick Ass vs. SFBMaddenhalics

NY Giants Kick Ass is a new comer to GameBattles with this being his first challenge of the season. On the other hand I had the chance to sit down and play a game with SFBMaddenhalics on the Xbox 360 yesterday and I barely came out on top, winning by a last minute Field Goal. This man knows his madden and talks like it too. Living in the Philadelphia region, this player is looking for a challenge announcing that he is hungry for a money match. He's got the talk, but can he walk the walk? With a 3-6 record over GameBattles one can't be so sure. Nonetheless, I feel he has this one but anything can happen.

T3AM R3L3NTL3SS vs. GoinDEEPwtUgonnaDO

T3AM R3L3NTL3SS, currently holding the 142nd rung in the league is coming off of a close win this past week. Winning by only 8 points, does he have what it takes to come out with a victory this week? GoinDEEPwtUgonnaDO is coming off of a defeat which has been disputed. He was playing a player within the top 15 of the ladder and was seemingly in a tie of 7-7, his and his opponent's connections dropped from the game, ending it. His opponent reported an unjustified win for the match resulting in a loss for GoinDEEPwtUgonnaDO. If he can hold his own against some of the leagues best, I believe he has what it takes to come out on top here.
