For anyone who uses the Ravens, you'll be using a new QB in Madden 09 as Steve McNair told teammates today that he will be retiring. Official announcement will come tomorrow at a 1pm press conference.
A lot of experts are saying Baltimore will go QB with their #8 draft pick anyway, now it's almost a certainty they get one in the first two rounds.
Air McNair is one of the most underrated qbs of the past decade, not to mention my favourite, pretty much carried the titans the super bowl by himself.
#8 I guess you were not a true Titans fan at the time.
Steve Mcnair actually missed 5 games that season and had a pretty bad touchdown to interception ratio that year (12/8). He had a running back in Eddie George who put up over 1,300 yards and had two WR's and his TE gain over 600 yards receiving.
Not only that but there defense was actually pretty good at the time with names like Kearse, Robinson, and Rolle.
In fact you could make an argument that Neil O'Donnell was more valuable to the team because he kept them in place while McNair was out. He not only had a better TD/INT ratio then McNair that year but he also had a better Comp % and QB rating. Of course that does not take anything away from McNair because he was the heart and soul of that team along with Eddie George.
McNair played a huge part in that super bowl run upon coming back but to say he almost single handedly led them to the super bowl could not be further from the truth.
