Although I hate the packers, (go Vikes) I disagree that all the packer fans will be gone now. Aaron Rodgers is a pretty good QB, (although I don't have much to base it on) and is probably still the best QB in the division, (arguably) I don't see how you can say they aren't a playoff team
They open up a lot of salary cap room, (17 million per year for farve?) Should be an interesting year for the Pack.
peace green bay~ thanks for another season sweep!!
i mean really, we were swept by the vikings AND the lions last year...but we beat y'all twice!
hell, aaron rodgers could be good...but he's no brett favre. i'm not saying favre is the greatest thing since sliced bread, it's just he's brett favre. there's really no explanation needed...
Packers vs Patriots was the first Superbowl I ever saw after moving to america, Favre is the man it's a shame he has had a terrible team around him for the past few seasons.
I was going to say Kitna too #10, because he threw more picks than TD's, but he was also sacked an NFL leading 51 times- and still threw for 4000+ yards. Maybe if he had an offensive line the Lions would be better
Tough to say "about time" to someone who is easily one of the five best QBs of all time.
Favre's absence will certainly be felt. A lot of people still call them the favorite to win the division, but I'm not too certain. The team will also feel the hit of losing Corey Williams on defense and their corners aren't getting any younger. I still love Al Harris & AJ Hawk, but I don't know if the team has enough on total defense to make up for the lost offense Green Bay will lose without Favre.
I'm not quite ready to say Aaron Rodgers & Ryan Grant are ready to lead the Packers to another NFC Championship game in 2008, nor do I think Green Bay should be handed the division again. That said, the rest of the division has mostly gone backwards in free agency along with Green Bay, so 9-7 could be enough to win the North if Chicago struggles on both sides again next season.
Favre's numbers do speak volumes about his career, but his competitiveness is what will be remembered by everyone from ESPN to local pubs.

Good riddance everyone in Wisconsin is LIKE OMG OMG FARVE IS GONE LETS GO CUT OURSELVES. I just want to see the fevered religion that is the Packers up here be gone.
Favre RETIRES.

Thoughts, wildBill?

Yes he was a good QB, but he wasn't as good as people make him out to be.
