Lance Briggs agreed to a 6-year, $36 million contract with the Bears. After all the fighting, talk of a hold out and ugliness of last season, Briggs will be along side Urlacher in the Chicago defense next season. Now they just need to get Brown healthy for a full year and maybe we can see that defense return to its 2006 form.

hell yes. a 2006 bears defense = a pretty good bet to get back to the NFC championship. i mean grossman avg'd like 3 int's a game in '06 and they got to the superbowl...
I'm not sure I share your sentiment about Grossman - I wish it could be true, but he's like the hot girl that keeps cheating on you and you think some day she'll be faithful, only to realize it's just not her way.
But yeah, Bears defense back to it's 06 form would be nice.

interesting analogy there...but there actually is hope for grossman because he showed much improvement in the 2 or so games he played after griese had replaced him...so i just hope it can continue on!
and he has shown glimpses of greatness...during the '06 year there were a couple games they won solely because of his play. granted there's been a ton of games they've lost solely due to his play as well...kind of a double edged sword!
Honestly, the Bears are having one of the worst off seasons possible. First, they neglect to address the QB situation. Sorry stimpz, but Grossman and greatness should never be used in the same sentence, ever. He was the product of a good collegiate system and nothing more. He has had too many chances only to fail every single time. Second, the complete failure to do anything at WR. Honestly, this offense doesn't even scare a high school team right now. Your #1 WR is Hester and your #2 is Bradley. Hester has no idea how to play WR and Bradley has no game experience. Third, the OLine and running game are pathetic. All Benson wants to do is smoke weed and eat happy meals with Ricky. No running game equals Rex either getting sacked, interception, or hurt. But hey, that is pretty common even with a running game.
So all of these problems on offense only to sign a crybaby LB that crashes cars into light poles. Jamar Williams is more than capable of taking over the Will. I mean, come on, it is a weak side LB. He is going to chase from the backside or cover the RB running a flare.
Unless the Bears have an amazing draft or finish FA strong, probably a 5-11 season. Everyone else in the north is getting better, can't say the same for the bears.
who swept you last year? might i add...KYLE ORTON beat you the 2nd time.
ps if y'all get moss i'm pretty sure you're just going to win everything. moss would fit in well with favre because he just launches the ball up for grabs a lot...and moss would win those balls quite often.
The Bears have a solid defense, sure... but their quarterback is unreliable at best (a massive understatement), their receiving corp mediocre (it's beyond idiotic to throw all of the play-making responsibility on a player who's only just now learning the position at the pro-level, no matter how good he is at returning kicks), and their running game pedestrian (Benson's just another draft-bust that the Bears inexplicably decided to bet everything on before actually observing concrete proof of his worth).
Lovie Smith and the Bears GM are inept at evaluating player-personnel, apparently. That's become pretty clear at this point. I'm beginning to think that the Bears' Super Bowl run the season before last was more of a fluke than anything else -- the result of a randomly fortunate composition of player-talent that lasted only a single season before the team management ****** it all up.
they may have beat the packers twice but that doesnt mean sh** if they cant win the division. moss or not, the packers are still going to win the division. the vikings are a bigger challenge than the bears.
