After the announcement of an interesting new way of starting the Pro Circuit, gametypes have been released as well for the newest game to the MLG competition. As the successor of Halo 2, Halo 3 obviously has quite a reputation to hold onto as the number one competitive game in the country. With over 200+ teams at each event competition, Halo 2 competition had some of the best matches over time and has held some of the largest LAN tournaments in the country. The official MLG gametypes below are as listed on the Major League Gaming website and are the rules that will be used for the Halo 3 2008 Pro Circuit: MLG Maps MLG Guardian v3 MLG Iso v3 (Isolation) MLG Cstruct v3 (Construct) MLG The Pit v3 MLG Narrows v3 MLG Gametypes MLG TS v3 MLG King v3 MLG Ball v3 MLG CTF Pit v3 MLG CTF Nar v3 GB CTF Nar v3 GB CTF Pit v3 Game types are played on the following maps: MLG TS v3 is played on: MLG Guardian v3 MLG Iso v3 (Isolation) MLG Cstruct v3 (Construct) MLG The Pit v3 MLG Narrows v3 MLG CTF v3/GB CTF v3 is played on: MLG The Pit v3 MLG Narrows v3 King of the Hill is played on: MLG Guardian v3 MLG Iso v3 (Isolation) MLG Cstruct v3 (Construct) MLG The Pit v3 Oddball is played on: MLG Guardian v3 What follows is a detailed description of how to download the new maps and the changes we made moving from version 2 to version 3: How to Download To download Halo 3 files you do NOT need to be friends with the person who made them. All you need to do is go to Bungie.net, sign in (the same email under which your Halo 3 gamertag is registered) and download from that person's file share. The next time you sign into Halo 3, the game will automatically download them. All MLG Halo 3 game types from now on will be under the gamertag “MLG Gametypes”. To download the version 3 game types go to MLG Gametypes’ Fileshare and click on the “Download to Halo 3” links for each of the maps and game types. Each time you click on a “Download to Halo 3” link, Bungie.net will tell you that the download has been queued. The next time you sign into Halo 3, you will download the files. PLEASE NOTE: Bungie.net/Halo 3 limit your download queue to eight (8) at a time. Therefore, when you are downloading the MLG Game Types, Maps and Settings, you will need to queue up the first 8, then turn on Halo 3, let them download automatically (which clears your queue), and then go back to bungie.net and put the remainder of the files in queue. Version 3 Changes Notice that there are MLG and GB (GameBattles) CTF gametypes. Since GB matches are played online, and there are no referees, there cannot be an indefinite overtime. Instead, there is a 30 second overtime period. While this is not ideal, it’s the optimum solution.
