Those lucky enough to get Halo 3 before it's release are in for a surprise from Bungie and Microsoft.
After a report from a UK gaming site, it seems as thought Microsoft will be cracking down on those who were able to get their hands on a copy of Halo 3 prior to it's release.
As stated by Microsoft themselves, anyone who plays either multiplayer online or just plays the single player alone will be banned from Xbox Live, no questions asked. This is being done in response to those who have been seen with copies of the game over two weeks prior to the launch date and have gloated about it.
Although this seems like a step done to defend the launch of Halo and its integrity, this doesn't seem fair to those that may have actually purchased the game early from retailers. It is not the consumer's fault for taking advantage of a situation and legally purchasing the game early.
As of present time, Microsoft is preparing a statement regarding this whole situation to provide to the public and media.
UPDATE: Accordingly, this threat of XBox Live bans has been ended as Microsoft has taken the approach that if you have it, then just play it.
This whole situation is up for a large discussion, so let us know in the comments how you feel about this whole situation.
