ESPN.com has done an article that talks about Halo 2, competitive gaming, Gilbert Arenas and Final Boss.
The article includes a lot about Arenas' excitement surrounding Halo and Final Boss' success and even outlines the conversation after Final Boss defeated Carbon to win an MLG Tour Event.

When Final Boss beat Carbon at an MLG tournament held at the Meadowlands earlier this year, Walsh promptly received an excited text message.
"Gilbert says, pick a vacation, anywhere you want to go," Walsh recalls.
"We said Hawaii," Tom says.
"He said, 'You can do better than that,'" Dan says.
actually the reason why is that halo is far more popular and spectator friendly, but yeah, the overall style of halo 2 and the autoaim alone make it a pretty dead-end game after awhile
#7/#8 im not arguing it takes more, im arguing that it DOES take skill. When did I say it takes more skill than CS or call into doubt CS's right as a tourney game? Also, in my personal opinion it takes a lot more teamwork, at least the same amount of strategy (if not more), and you have to be able to think extremely fast (this one is for both games). Halo 2 might not have required the most individual skill, but Halo and now Halo 3 certainly do beause of the reduced auto aim.
CS takes much more strategy than Halo 2. Compare the difference between stickies and frags to the difference between flashes, smokes, and nades. Compare blood gulch to de_nuke. Compare the AWP to the Sniper Rifle. Compare the Rocket Launcher to the lack thereof. Halo 2 takes plenty of teamwork, but it's clearly lacking in strategy.
#15 that's a really solid argument for an eleven year old and all, but have you ever even HEARD of Quake 3? Let me give you a hint: it's at least 3 times faster than any Halo game.
Why does either game have to take more skill than the other? Christ, you fanboys are so damn close-minded. Halo and CS both take a whole hell of a lot of skill, especially at the very top level. If you disagree with that, you're just plain retarded.
no one is arguing that console shooters take more skill than pc shooters - most gamers realize that the genre of first person shooters is best done on pc. the defining line comes because consoles are more widespread throughout gaming, that is to say you find more gamers on consoles playing halo than you find pc gamers playing cstrike - and that virtually creates a larger fanbase for console shooters. it isn't because it is more skillful, or anything like that, it is simply easier for them to relate to since that is what they play.
even so, cstrike is on the decline, ESPECIALLY in the united states. if cstrike were to be a headline for esports as a whole it should have done that in 2003 or 2004 when teams like complexity and 3D were still in the top ten teams in the world.

IMO it is a lot harder to aim with a console in FPS simply because you have two analog sticks and don't have nearly as much precision control as you do with a mouse. Both pc and console games take skill, as does every game. There should not be any competition between the two...it's just a matter of preference.
did you ever notice that pretty much everyone who says their opinion at the end of their post they write, and if you don't agree you're retarded.. or, if you think that you are an idiot.
