Although showing a great amount of teamwork and skill, oNSLAUGHT would be unable to defeat CleanSweep as they fall in four maps. Here's a recap of the match score:
We cannot count out the Fresno local team oNSLAUGHT for a lack of effort. Being their first MLG event attended, MLG Las Vegas should make a mark in their LAN history as they were able to force their way through the open bracket of the National Championship while barely falling to CleanSweep. One of their strongest map performances couldn't save on Gridlock. Falling into a 2-0 rut against CleanSweep, oNSLAUGHT fought back with some fantastic teamwork both by boomshot and by sniper to bring the map score to a 2-2 tie. A fantastic 3v1 draw by No Mercy would keep oNSLAUGHT in the game as he was able to fend off a rush of two players and lead into the eventual 2-2 tie. Heading into the last round, an uncoordinated rush to sniper tower by oNSLAUGHT would lead to their 3-2 demise on Gridlock. Although being able to sweep CleanSweep across Mansion, this victory would only serve to be bittersweet as CleanSweep would show their true power and defenses against the flank on Clocktower as they were able to defend multiple 2-man flanks by oNSLAUGHT as well as shut down an all 4-man rush in the last round through lower. Heading into the playoffs, it seems that CleanSweep will have quite a bit to overcome as they will be facing a number of veterans such as MoB Unknowns and iLL by Nature. This will all come down to the national championship to be held tomorrow afternoon.
