Gears of War action is underway in Orlando, Florida with some big news hitting us BEFORE the event and extending through. ![]() For the second time in the MLG Pro Circuit, InFiNiTy has taken first place after defeating Visionz. After defeating the rest of the competition, they have continued their winning streak as they come off of a fresh win from WCG US Finals in Orlando. They put on a great show against Visionz as they proceeded to the very last map of a Best of 11 match-up. Championship Match:
Although the match-up seemed very even, it seemed to always come down to whoever had host advantage. With each team battling for the boomshot on most maps there was always a shotgun going through the crowd. I must say, Visionz pick-up of Sewpraa helped them very much as he was very solid and would on several times take out 2-3 players of InFiNiTy. He was able to help Bawabus to put up quite a fight against InFiNiTy. Even with the newly added player to the roster, Visionz was yet again unable to end their losing streak as they finished this tournament in second place behind InFiNiTy. InFiNiTy came along very strong with Genetix showing quite a strong presence in the game. After all of the dust is settled, we are now three weeks away from MLG Las Vegas. There we will have the plaoffs begin as it will be four straight days of professional gaming. The best of the best teams will show-up for a much larger prize than any of the Pro Circuit stops up to this one. Well, the event had a great turnout for Gears of War therefore MuRRaY will break into... The MuRRaY Awards GTFO Moment Driven By Adrenaline vs. Simplex The team coached by MuRRaY himself was nearly screwed over very harshly. Thanks to their skill, they didn't let a technical foul stop them from winning. In a very heated match apparently Driven By Adrenaline had used some colorful language. In spite, the referee pinned us with a technical foul, causing us to lose host on the following map. With only one map to play, this ticked us off a bit but we excelled past that. So many times I just wanted to say "GTFO ref...". Upset Of The Event MoB Unknowns Defeat The Last Resistance So maybe it seemed like a fluke that TLR was bumped into the lower bracket, it seemed really odd that they were defeated by the 11th placed team from last event MoB Unknowns. Also known as MoB 180, this team did come out into 5th at least so it wasn't really a wasted effort by them. TLR ended up swapping positions with them by placing into 11th as cloud of TLR just told me that it was a rough event. LoLuMaD? CDN111 Obviously coming in extremely happy and confident over their MLG Chicago win, CDN and prOphEcY had all of the momentum. That being said, they didn't make it through the event as they planned and CDN was shunned from the center stage, not stepping on it once. Nice try guys.
