Gears of War: MLG Orlando: GoW Preview

MLG Orlando is hitting us like a hurricane this weekend as we prepare for a fury of teams trying to take the top seeds before the playoffs hit us.

MLG Orlando has crept up on us pretty quickly and it couldn’t be a better time. The Gears of War season is winding down to this event as every team is fighting for points to place in the top 8.

This event should be down to the wire as we have the top teams coming in yet again to silence each other for the number one seed of this event. Taking a different approach to the event, we will look at recent performances of the top teams along with what makes them the best of the best.

The teams are arriving and everybody is getting ready for the event. Here are the teams:

InFiNiTy

Coming off of the heels of the WCG US Finals, we see a very sporadic InFiNiTy coming off of a very large placing in first. This team has had such a solid line-up that the only thing that could be noticeably different is the shirt that each player wears. That’s it, this line-up is solid enough to rock a house down off of it’s foundation with their strong pushes and intense fighting styles. Seeing them on Canals is a treat enough as the sniper comes into play and shuts out even the toughest opposition in prOphEcY and vVv Vision. If they come off of their momentum from the most recent Orlando event, InFiNiTy could be taking first as well as moving up in the ranks which would be just in time for the MLG Playoffs.

prOphEcY

Of every team that has played InFiNiTy, one of the strongest has to be prOphEcY. After a strong win in the upper bracket championship at the WCG US Finals, they seemed to be on top of the world. Not only this, but going into WCG they were coming off of a first place win in MLG Chicago. This amount of momentum would have been enough to drive a ship through a harbor as they were pumped with their coach CDN standing right beside them, fueling their fire and desire to win. At least second should be guaranteed for this team at MLG Orlando, if they don’t place second I will cry myself to sleep.

Although we have these two powerhouse teams attending the MLG tournament, there are a number of other teams that can put up a fight against them.
