Leaked screenshots from the latest issue of the Japanese Magazine Shonen Jump entail "new" versions of Dragon Quest being remade for the Nintendo DS by Square Enix, creators of the Final Fantasy franchise. Specifically, Dragon Quest IV,V and VI.

According to a report from Gamespot, the screenshots show that Dragon Quest will get a bit of a makeover in the port to the DS, much like Final Fantasy III did last year.

When contacted on whether or not these games will make it to the U.S., a Square Enix rep said "...that no official announcements have been made regarding Dragon Quest IV, V, and VI in North America." While DS games are region-free, playing a Japanese game when you're not fluent in the language could be a bit of a hastle.
