Konami has just announced that WayFoward Technologies, creators of the games Ping Pals and SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab, will be bringing you DS owners Contra 4 (working title).

It will be a direct sequel to Contra III: The Alien Wars; it will utilize the two screens for "massive boss battles" and will feature multiplayer play via the built-in Wi-Fi.

Contra 4 will take place two years after Contra III: The Alien Wars and of course will feature the traditional 2-D scrolling gameplay as well as the ever-so-sexy Bill Rizer and Lance Bean.
