Nintendo DS: Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Reaches 5 Million

Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection has reached 5 million unique DS users.

Nintendo's free Wi-Fi connection service for it's popular Nintendo DS handheld has just reached 5 million unique users according to a press statement released by Nintendo.

There are currently 65 games that are wi-fi enabled, the five most popular being Animal Crossing: Wild World, Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. Between all of the wi-fi enabled games, users have totalled up more than 200 million game-play sessions.

Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said that, "Nintendo DS gamers globally use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection as an easy, fun place to find fellow players, all without paying anything extra for the service. The milestones represent millions of hours of fun and camaraderie despite miles between players."
