Nintendo DS: 5 Million Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Sold

Pokemon has been one of the most popular gaming series of all time, and the trend continues with the success of the newest installments in the Pokemon series in Japan.
According to Nintendo, Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl have combined to achive 5 million units sold. Impressively, the games were released in Japan only 3 months ago, making them the best selling Pokemon games ever in Japan.

The games have not yet made it to the US as they will come state side April 22, 2007. The games utilize the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi connection to allow gamers to connect to one another for play. Expanded combat systems, head to head play via the DS Wi-Fi and updated trade systems give Pokemon fans a new feel to the familiar series.

Gamers who preorder the newest Pokemon game will be able to receive a free Pokemon stylus for their Nintendo DS.
