As sales numbers come in from Nintendo, it's becoming more and more clear that finding a DS Lite may not be so easy for everyone.
The New Super Mario Bros. may sound familiar, as it should. The game recently broke records in Japan when it sold over 480,000 units in its first day, maxing out at nearly a million in its first week, thus becoming one of the biggest portable software accomplishments since the Brain Age series. Something a bit less known about the launch day of the DS Lite was the portable system's participation in a Pediatric Aids Benefit with celebrities like Kobe Bryant, Seth Green and Tony Hawk. During the benefit, kids were able to play the otherwise unfindable DS Lite with the comfort of a new celeb every hour in the DS Lite lounge.
